This is a rescued copy of three related Tripod.com genealogy websites that documented the American Maltby/Maltbie/Molby family. All three sites went offline when their Tripod DNS stopped resolving, but the content survived in two forms: a set of original files on an EasyStore hard drive (the primary source, highest fidelity) and Wayback Machine captures (used to fill any gaps).
The files in this archive were merged from five source layers using an explicit priority
order: EasyStore-2012 > EasyStore-2008 > EasyStore-2005 > Wayback Machine.
Where the same filename existed in multiple sources, the highest-priority copy was kept.
A full merge log is at _merge-log.txt.
maltby-genealogy.tripod.com — The Main SiteSubject: Mrs. Dorothy (MALTBY) VERRILL's 1957 genealogy manuscript, digitized and typed by Fred MOLBY. An "interactive" manuscript where visitors could submit updates. Actively maintained through at least 2005; last Wayback capture April 2026.
Coverage: 570+ manuscript pages tracing the American Maltby family from William MALTBY (immigrant ancestor, 1st generation) through 10th–11th generation descendants (births into the early 2000s). Includes English/medieval pedigree sections, heraldic arms documentation, and the MOLBY surname variant.

The Maltby manuscript uses a systematic branching code to identify each family line. The root is William MALTBY (immigrant ancestor, 1st generation), whose descendants are traced through the alphabetic branch codes. Key branches include:
